Background

The quest for eternal youth, or at least the appearance of eternal youth, is one of today's foremost motivations in the development of cosmetic formulations. Facial moisturisers, nutrient serums and even daily cleansers claim to contain powerful ingredients that stave off the development of undesirable, yet seemingly inevitable extrinsic signs of aging; from wrinkles and age spots to sagging skin.

Increasingly, consumers are turning toward cosmetic manufacturers to assist in their battle against aging. Siberian Ginseng is not a 'true' Ginseng as it is only remotely related to the 'true' Ginsengs (such as the well-known Panax Ginseng). However, it is commonly regarded as such for its similar adaptogenic properties. Adaptogenic herbs help the body adapt to stress from both internal and external sources. This perceivable phenomenon is due to physical changes in the polymer structure of the polysaccharides as they dry on the skin.
