It is extracted from traditional brewers yeast by a controlled process which preserves its high molecular weight and native structure and enables it to confer desirable moisture-binding and film-forming properties to the skin. This complex is responsible for providing turgor and shape inside the cell in a similar way to sugar/ protein complexes in the dermis.
