Skin Care Secrets Revealed: Natural vs Organic

Some of our active raw materials have been qualified as
Natural by EcoCert. This EcoCert certification applies to our suppliers, who
are registered with them. They are: AHA Natural Fruit Extract, Sea Silk, Epi-dermis & Sebum Balancer . Natural Silicone and other products should be
certified by EcoCert soon.
If you also want to certify your products as natural, then EcoCert criteria
for states that your formula must have:
- Not less than 95% of natural or from natural origin
ingredients
- Not more than 5% of synthetic adjuvants, chosen from the
list
allowed in this standard
- Not less than 70% of plant ingredients derived from
organic
cultivations conforming to EEC law 2092/91
- Not less than 5% of total ingredients derived from organic
cultivations conforming to EEC law 2092/91
How Aromantic classify raw materials as natural
N - All Natural Raw
Materials, extracted through the use of natural methods such as distillation,
pressing, drying, yeasting, cooling, oil extraction and CO2 extraction. Examples of these would be Essential Oils, Cold pressed Vegetable
Oils, etc.
We also have other
sub-categories of Natural:
NK - Natural Raw Materials Extracted with the help of
chemicals such as solvents which are not found in the natural raw material,
e.g. Jasmine
Absolute, Rose de Mai Absolute.
NB - Natural Raw Materials Treated in order to access
other properties of the raw material e.g. the conversion of Palm Oil into MF
Emulsifier.
NS - Natural Raw Materials Treated & Combined
with chemicals/synthetic raw materials, e.g. the conversion of Coconut Butter
to an active washing ingredient such as the Detergent Alpha or conversion of
Guar Flour to cosmetic Guar Gum Powder.
The EcoCert standard for organic is as follows:
- Not less than 95% of natural or
from natural origin ingredients
- Not more than 5% of synthetic
adjuvants, chosen from the list allowed in this standard
- Not less than 95% of plant
ingredients derived from organic cultivations conforming to EEC law
2092/91
- Not less than 10% of total
ingredients derived from organic cultivations conforming to EEC law
2092/91
