Arnica Balm

Arnica Balm

This balm makes a great remedy for aching muscles and bruises. Arnica has long been used to relieve aches and pains and help reduce inflammation. Our recipe uses olive oil as the base of our balm but you can use any heat-tolerant oil you have around.

Stage 1:
12% Beeswax
72% Olive Oil

Stage 2: (below 50°C)
10% Arnica Oil
4% Arnica Tincture
1% Vitamin E
1% Plai Essential Oil

Total 100%

Method:
Heat all the Stage 1 ingredients in a double boiler, making sure your oils are not heat-sensitive. Heat sensitive oils should be added in Stage 2. Stir and melt fully.

Mix the balm until it has cooled to approximately 40-50°C. Stir in the remaining heat sensitive ingredients like tinctures, macerated oils or essential oils. Pour into jars and leave to cool before sealing and labelling.
